Vieng grew up in a little town called Warner Robins, when her family first came to the US from a refugee camp in Thailand. Her older brother, after finishing high school, moved the family to Marietta, so he could attend Southern Technical Institute, which is now Kennesaw State University. After she finished high school at Sprayberry, Vieng continued her education at Kennesaw State University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s in Chemistry. When her husband at the time, developed extensive, ilio-femoral DVT, she decided she wanted to learn how to manage and live with the diagnosis, so she applied to the Vascular Technology Program at Coosa Valley Technical College, which is now called Georgia Northwestern Technical College. Since graduation, Vieng worked briefly at Solaris Heart & Vascular and is now currently employed at Piedmont Hospital Vascular Lab. She LOVES her job!!
